Students welcome ASU baseball team

Sunday night fans waited excitedly for the ASU baseball team to arrive home from conquering no. 7 LSU in two of three games.

The team arrived late with an escort with many App fans waiting to congratulate them on their wins.

“We are blown away this is awesome,” said senior infielder Daniel Kassouf.

It was a very busy day for the Mountaineers. After playing a game at noon, the team immediately left Baton Rouge, La. on a flight, and didn’t return to Boone until nearly midnight. Despite the travel, the players were thrilled about their weekend.

“This is just so surreal. I am still trying to grasp it all,” Said junior player Tyler Zupcic.

To them, the game is still something that they love to do.

“It’s just a bunch of fun. We go out there and have fun,” Kassouf said. “Playing’s fun. Its not work or anything.”

The Mountaineers must be wary of celebrating too much, as Tuesday it’s back to work for the Mountaineers. They will travel to Greensboro to take on N.C. A&T at 3 p.m.
