ASU’s women’s soccer lost to North Carolina State University 3-1 Friday night.
This game marked the first time the two teams had ever competed.
The loss drops App to 2-4 overall. N.C. State improves to 5-2 winning its fifth match in a row.
Goalie Megan Roberson managed to save an attempt in the 11th minute, but 23 minutes later N.C. State’s forward Rachel Harris was able to score her second game of the season.
Despite N.C. State’s three successful goals, Roberson was able to stop seven goals.
Freshman midefielder Kate Ward managed to score a goal past the Wolfpack’s goalkeeper, which was Ward’s second goal for her second collegiate match.
Both teams were tied for the majority of the first quarter, but NCSU began to pull forward in the 72nd minute after a goal by State’s forward Jennie Krauser, and then again by Krauser 16 minutes later.
Krauser’s third shot was the game winner for the Wolfpack.
