After conflicting reports, a press release from Boone Police Department today said the ambulance was stolen at 9 p.m. last night from Kidd Brewer Stadium.
It was seen traveling South on N.C. 105 before the abandoned vehicle was found at The Cottages of Boone.
Boone Police are offering a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The Appalachian is reaching out to Boone Police for further comment.
