Krispy Kreme will be opening a new location in Boone on Highway 321, according to Bill Bailey, director of Boone planning and inspections.
The Krispy Kreme’s floor plans have been drawn, and the location has been chosen. The new location will be next to Cracker Barrel where Long John Silvers used to operate before closing earlier this year.
Krispy Kreme has just resubmitted its permits and they are now being reviewed, according to Christy Turner, planner for Boone planning and inspections.
“Usually when they resubmit [permits] it doesn’t take the twenty business days that we usually require [to have them reviewed],” Turner said.
An opening date has not yet been set for Krispy Kreme, Bailey said. Krispy Kreme’s officials declined comment on when the store may open.
