The Appalachian is committed to covering the news that impacts our community, now more than ever. To do so safely, we are employing an interim anonymity policy to protect the individuals who speak to us, who are photographed or filmed by us and guide us to more information.
From now until further notice, The Appalachian is extending full anonymity to sources that speak to us about ICE-related coverage, regardless of situation. We plan on using descriptors such as “a protester,” “a spectator,” “a student” and “a professor” to personalize individuals without jeopardizing their livelihood or safety.
Be on the lookout for our coverage of ICE and CBP, and if you have any questions or tips, email [email protected]. We are here for you.
