A suspect has been taken into custody as a result of an investigation regarding the sexual assault reported on Aug. 23, according to a safety alert issued by university police.
Devin Austin Parks, 20, of Charlotte was taken into custody by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. Parks has no affiliation with Appalachian State University and has been banned from all university property.
