With the next generation of console’s upon us, the question arises what side of the console war will I be joining? Microsoft with their The Xbox One or Sony and their Playstation 4? There is never a right answer to this question because on no matter what side you pick, there will be someone there to call you a fanboy and make fun of you.
Currently, I own both of the rivals in the market today, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. I love both of my consoles and I think they are both great machines. But I am a Xbox guy (If you couldn’t tell by the controller on the blog banner). I had a PS1 and PS2 growing up, but then I switched to the Xbox Original and I made my home with Microsoft. So naturally, I am going to get the Xbox One when it launches on November 22.
“But the PS4 is faster! It has so many great exclusives! You don’t have to constantly be connected to the internet! BLAH BLAH BLAH!” The console war is worse than democrats vs. republicans. However, those people are right the PS4 has better specs on it. But for me the specs on the two are not the deciding factor between the two. It is what they offer which is what everything really boils down to.
I love Halo, Gears of War, better multiplayer (obviously the PS3 has multiplayer, but it is better on the Xbox. Why do you think Call of Duty is preferred on the Xbox?), HBO, the Xbox controller, the dashboard, achievements (trophies are not even remotely cool), Xbox Live, and the developer support. That is why I bought a 360 and will buy an Xbox One.
But don’t get me wrong. I love Sony and their consoles. I spent my childhood with Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter and I own a PS3 and will more than likely buy a PS4 later in the next cycle. But the Xbox is my favorite console, simple as that.
The next cycle of games and consoles will be very interesting and gamers will see some the best games in the history of gaming from BOTH consoles. November can’t get here quick enough.
Speaking of which, what is Nintendo doing these days?
