The accident occurred near the Ingles supermarket and the Ross auto dealership on N.C. 105 when a vehicle crossed over the centerline and crashed into the student’s vehicle head-on.

LeBeau said alcohol or drugs are not suspected at this point in the investigation but blood tests are being completed in order to confirm.

LeBeau said the police department has contacted the student’s family and will be releasing the names of the deceased and the driver of the other vehicle within the next hour.
