SGA Cabinet: Devyn Reilly

Leah Rogers, Reporter

Chief of Staff

Devyn Reilly

Year: Junior

Major: Communication, Advertising

What inspired you to join Student Government?

I worked with DJ and Bailey on their campaign and got increasingly more involved with the behind-the-scenes work SGA was involved in. I was inspired by both DJ and Bailey’s commitment towards their platform to amplify all voices and wanted to be a part of that change.

What drew you to your position?

I have experience with administrative and organizational tasks that are required for being Chief of Staff. I also wanted to assist DJ and Bailey and the rest of our Cabinet with pushing initiatives that are important to the structure and development of Appalachian State University.

What is your biggest goal regarding SGA this year?

I hope to help SGA build a greater presence on campus. When I was a freshman, I didn’t understand how SGA functioned to support the student body. I want our campus to know and get involved with the work that SGA does in support of our peers.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing this academic year?

I think the most exciting and important thing we will be accomplishing this year internally will be increasing our numbers and building outreach with our community.
