Firefighters responded to 11 fire alarms that went off in the John E. Thomas Building around 10:40 p.m. Monday.
The alarms are suspected to have gone off due to a malfunction, Travis Spencer, Senior Engineer with the Boone Fire Department, said.
“Sometimes it’s the real deal and I’m glad it was not,” Spencer said.
All three housekeepers made it out safe, said Dinah Mitchell, who works the second housekeeping shift at JET Hall.
Mitchell said she was thankful everyone made it out safe.
“Young people are here late and it so happened they had left,” Mitchell said.
Telecommunications, the alarm company for the university, will check the alarms in JET Building tomorrow, Lt. Johnny Brown with the university police said.
