Present Like You’re Giving a Ted Talk: Creating PowerPoints and Presentations – PEAK Workshop

The Student Learning Center will be hosting a workshop on public speaking with Peer Academic Leaders. From 5-6 p.m. in DD Dougherty, room 143, PALs will be giving advice on how to deliver quality presentations.

 

Tuesday, April 7

Tuesday Tuesday Bingo Night

Get the chance to win an assortment of prizes at Transfer Admissions and Engagement’s bingo night. This event will be held in Mountain Laurel Hall’s Ballroom from 7-8:30 p.m.

 

Mid-Semester Reset: Sinners (2025) Film Screening

The Oscar-winning film “Sinners” will be shown from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Belk Library and Information Commons, room 114. This free event works to encourage relaxation and recharging for students as the end of the semester draws nearer.

 

Wednesday, April 8

Mid-Semester Reset: Make Friendship Bracelets

Belk Library is hosting another midsemester reset with the making of friendship bracelets. All supplies will be provided from 6-8 p.m. in Belk Library’s programming space on the first floor.

 

Thursday, April 9

Zine Workshop: Why Zines?

A zine workshop will be held from 5-7 p.m. in Belk Library, room 024, featuring guest speaker Karine Rupp-Stanko, an artist and literary translator. Attendees will learn about what a zine can bring to their community and life.

 

Friday, April 10

Slow Pulp

The Wisconsin-based indie-rock band Slow Pulp is coming to the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts from 7-10 p.m. Hosted by the Appalachian Popular Programming Society, tickets are $20 for students and $30 for the public.

 

Saturday, April 11

Acapocalypse

APPS is hosting App State’s annual Acapocalypse from 6-8 p.m. in the Schaefer Center. Tickets are $5 and come with the promise of a real-life “Pitch Perfect” experience featuring App State’s a capella groups. 

 

Entropy Dance Crew 15th Anniversary Showcase

Entropy Dance Crew, a hip-hop and street-style-inspired dance club, will be performing from 7-9 p.m. in IG Greer Hall, alongside other collegiate dance groups across North Carolina. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Student tickets are $7 and nonstudent tickets are $15.
