Join the App State Gardening Club from 3:30-5 p.m. as they weed their way through the greenery of Howard Street’s Roots Garden. All levels of experience are welcome, as long as you have a water bottle, a green thumb and are ready to work.
End of Year Friendsgiving & Mug Painting!
Faculty, staff and students alike are invited to celebrate the end of the semester with a community meal and a decorative mug painting at the Student Commons on the Hickory Campus. Relieve the stress of the semester and share stories with fellow students over a warm meal from noon to 2 p.m.

General Drop-In Academic Support
Need help getting organized for the ever-approaching, dreaded finals season? From 4-6 p.m., the Student Learning Center provides general academic support in room 143 of DD Dougherty. Gain study skills as well as help with time management, just in time for exams.

Every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., the sounds of trumpets, trombones and soulful jazz can be heard from Howard Street’s restaurant, FizzEd. Grab a plate of wings and sit down for a night of music, featuring local artists Lamont Monroe and the LM Quartet.
Thursday, Nov.27
FARM Cafe will be hosting a Thanksgiving meal from 12-4 p.m., in line with their mission of feeding all, regardless of means. Invite a friend and meet new ones as the community comes together to celebrate the holiday. Volunteers must sign up online, and attendees are encouraged to bring a sweet treat to share at the community dessert table.
Starting at 11 a.m., Greek restaurant Ambrosia Kaféneio will be holding its second annual “Greeksgiving,” featuring a traditional Thanksgiving buffet. All are welcome, and volunteers are encouraged to help out at the event.
Friday, Nov. 28
Swing into Blowing Rock as celebrators officially welcome in the holiday season with the annual Christmas in the Park event. The day will begin at 12 p.m. with a visit from Santa and the joyous sounds of carolers, concluding at approximately 5:30 p.m. with the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of Thanksgiving leftovers and take the day to explore the magic of holidays in the High Country.
The Barter Players: “I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas”
The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country will be hosting the Barter Brothers for a live holiday production about Christmas time at the Cincinnati Zoo. Sit back and enjoy the performance as Boone welcomes the holiday season. Student tickets can be purchased for $9 and adult tickets for $19 on the theatre’s website. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the production will begin at 7 p.m.

The Blowing Rock Christmas Parade on Main Street
March into the holidays with Blowing Rock during the annual “Christmas Parade on Main Street.” Prepare to see twinkling floats, decorative costumes and holiday cheer starting at 10 a.m.
