Fiber Frolic at Hickory Ridge History Museum
The Hickory Ridge History Museum is hosting its fourth annual Fiber Frolic, starting at 11 a.m. The day will include activities and learning opportunities about fiber, with a wrap-up time of 4 p.m. This event is family-friendly and has no cost for admission.

The Hickory Ridge History Museum is hosting a storytelling session from noon to 3 p.m., featuring the legendary Orville Hicks telling mountain folklore stories. Attendees will have the opportunity to come onstage and choose a story to tell. Sign-ups are $10.

Mountain Alliance 35th Anniversary Concert
Mountain Alliance is hosting a concert at Firerock Station from 6-10 p.m. to celebrate their 35th anniversary. Soul Benefactor will play live music. This event is $50 for general admission and $40 for current and former Mountain Alliance staff and students.

Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives
The Mast Store Americana Music Series is hosting Marty Stuart And His Fabulous Superlatives at the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country at 7:30 p.m. Stuart is a Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy winner and AMA Lifetime Achievement Honoree. High Country Jazz Festival
Boone will have its fourth annual jazz festival at venues around Boone and Blowing Rock. The festival kicks off June 12 with a dinner at Casa Rustica, then continues on June 13 with Catherine Russell, Dizzy Gillespie Big Band on June 14 and Noel Freidline and Maria Howell on June 15. These performances will be held at the Appalachian Theatre, and other events will be held at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum, the Jones House Cultural Center and various local restaurants.

Boonerang Music & Arts Festival
Downtown Boone is hosting the annual Boonerang Music & Arts Festival, connecting artists and fans through music, restaurants, activities and more. This event will feature artists like Tribal Gold, ElectroLust, Joslyn & the Sweet Compression, New Orleans Suspects and more. Boonerang was voted the Best Local Annual Event in Best of Boone 2025.

Mile of Flowers: Garden Tour
The Blowing Rock Garden Club is hosting a private garden tour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be a walking tour around town led by a “Garden Guide” who will give attendees historical information about Blowing Rock throughout the tour. There will be a tea party from 1-3 p.m. at the American Legion building. Tickets are priced at $35 per person, but there are limited spots. The Blowing Rock Garden Club also hosts various field trips to gardens around Northwestern North Carolina.

Boone Pride March and Festival
The High Country LGBTQ Alliance is hosting the annual march and festival from 1-6 p.m. at the Watauga County Agricultural Conference Center. More information on the event can be found on the Boone Pride Instagram @Boonepride. Performer, vendor and volunteer applications are open until May 28 and there is no fee for applying or attending the event.
Amos Lee
An Appalachian Summer brings Amos Lee to the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. for a live performance. Lee is a singer-songwriter known for his collaboration with artists such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Zac Brown Band. Tickets will range from $25 to $65.

The Boone 4th of July Parade will begin its travels along King Street at 11 a.m. Once the parade ends, the celebration continues at the Jones House and concludes with a fireworks display in Clawson-Burnley Park at dusk.

An Appalachian Summer is hosting Alonzo King LINES Ballet in the Schaefer Center for a captivating performance in collaboration with the Grammy-award winner Lisa Fischer and Kennedy Center Artistic Director for Jazz Jason Moran. Ticket prices are $10 for children under 12 and $25 to $45 for adults.

The 5 Browns
An Appalachian Summer will host The 5 Browns at the Schaefer Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for children under 12 and $20 to $40 for adults. The 5 Browns are a classical ensemble of five pianos who got their first wave of popularity in 2002 when People magazine featured them as the “Fab Five.” They have been featured on “Oprah” and “60 Minutes.”

Boone Gran Fondo Cycling Event
Boone Gran Fondo is hosting their annual cycling event, with races starting at 8 a.m. and varying in length depending on the route. There will be three routes through the Watauga County area of the Blue Ridge Mountains with varying lengths of 24 miles, 57 miles and 94 miles.

Watauga County Farmers’ Market
Watauga County Farmers’ Market will be in full swing until Nov. 29. You can find various vendors in Daniel Boone Park from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday.
King Street Farmers’ Market
The King Street Farmers’ Market will operate every Tuesday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. from May to October.
Beech Mountain Farmers’ Market
Beech Mountain will be hosting its annual farmers’ market across from Fred’s General Mercantile from 2-6 p.m. on the first Friday of each month until Oct. 3.
Old Time Jams at the Jones House
The Jones House Cultural Center hosts a weekly jam session with local and visiting musicians on Thursdays from 7-10 p.m.
Summer Concerts at the Jones House
The Town of Boone hosts weekly concerts at the Jones House on Fridays from June 6 to Aug. 29 at 5:30 p.m., featuring local artists as well as regionally acclaimed artists.
Art in the Park
The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce puts on Art in the Park along Park Avenue in downtown Blowing Rock from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 17, June 14, July 12, Aug. 16, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4. This event was created in 1962 as a way to showcase local talents and continues that tradition today.
First Friday Art Crawl
The Downtown Boone Development Association hosts the First Friday Art Crawl at various locations in and around Boone, including the Jones House and the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts. This features various art exhibits across town, displaying the work of many local artists.
Rhododendron Ramble
From May 24 to June 1, Grandfather Mountain is putting on its annual Rhododendron Ramble tour. This involves a casual 20-minute stroll around Grandfather Mountain with a guide providing information on the rhododendron species, its history and role in the ecosystem.
You-Pick Flowers at Springhouse Farm
Springhouse Farm is hosting their annual You-Pick Flowers event, starting June 28 and going until Aug. 30 every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. From noon to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, attendees can pick their own farm fresh flowers and make their very own bouquet.
Todd Summer Concert Series
The Todd Community Preservation Organization is hosting a music series featuring six bands. These shows are on June 28, July 19, Aug. 2, 16 and 30 from 6-8 p.m. and July 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Walter & Annie Cook Memorial Park in Todd.
