The hype around college basketball season always swells, but it really amps up during the run of the NCAA Tournament, more commonly known as March Madness.
During the second half of March, viewers watch the best of the best compete to take it all, following along and predicting who will win. To match the thrill of the March Madness season, this playlist will hype up any listener and put them in a competitive mood.
Starting off strong, “HUMBLE.” by Kendrick Lamar sets the tone for the playlist with its fast-paced, quick-witted lyrics and danceable music. “Swag Surfin’” by F.L.Y. (Fast Life Yungstaz) and Easton is a fitting track for the interactive swaying the crowd does and participation that happens at games.
The playlist also includes artists such as Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas and Guns N’ Roses, all of whom share a similar type of electronic, energetic sound. Their songs serve to keep the high-energy, sports atmosphere alive.
Fan favorites such as “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC and “All I Do Is Win (feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg & Rick Ross)” by DJ Khaled keep the traditional feel of the game alive throughout this playlist.
“Welcome To The Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses immediately transports the listener into the tunnel with the players ready to run out at the start of the game. The concluding track, “FE!N (feat. Playboi Carti)” by Travis Scott, perfectly encapsulates the excitement the crowd feels storming the court when their team wins.
It wouldn’t be a basketball playlist without a few musical numbers referencing the sport itself. “Get’cha Head In The Game” and “Now Or Never” will take the listener back to East High’s basketball court, as “High School Musical” star player Troy Bolton sings about his own basketball journey.
