Playlist of the week: Pisces season with Pisces artists

Pisces are often found in the company of other people — perhaps a musician in a studio surrounded by producers — and ground their relationships in deep understanding and empathy. Proud of her sign, Oliva Rodrigo keeps the phrase “spicy pisces” in her Instagram bio, confidently embodying this deep emotional maturity in her songs “good 4 u” and “stranger.”

This rich connection to love finds itself in many Pisces singers, notably the past two Grammy Best New Artist winners, Olivia Dean and Chappell Roan.

This pattern is not a coincidence, as Pisces are generally very in touch with art, and more specifically, music. It is no surprise then that this list features some well-known artists. Throwing back to the 2010s, this playlist includes Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” followed by “Phresh Out The Runway” by Rihanna.

This musical talent found within Pisces is not restricted to 21st-century artists, as Lou Reed is featured with his song “Satellite of Love” alongside “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi.

Perhaps due to their often addictive choruses, Pisces have brought hits that will remain on playlists indefinitely. Whether dancing in a club to “Blow” by Kesha or frolicking in a field to “Someone New” by Hozier, Pisces will have you singing along to every word.

Whether at a middle school dance or in your middle-aged father’s backseat, this playlist is no doubt filled with songs and artists you’ve heard of. While Pisces season may end Friday, their music will still be on playlists year-round.
