An Appalachian State University freshman male student was arrested by Lexington police at his home in Lexington on Sept. 15 following a complaint filed by a non-Appalachian female student, according to an email from University Police Tuesday.
The complaint was filed with University Police on Sept. 13 and alleged that the student committed sexual battery against the victim Sept. 6 in a campus residence hall. Sexual battery is sexual contact against a person’s will.
According to the email, the arrest followed an earlier incident in which this student was arrested by University Police on Sept. 9 on charges of sexual battery and assault on a female. The alleged event occurred in a campus residence hall following a complaint filed Sept. 7 by a female student at Appalachian.
