Student Body Vice President

DJ Evans

Year: Senior

Major: Political Science

What inspired you to join Student Government?

I was inspired to join student government because I wanted to be involved and I want to speak for those who could not speak for themselves. I wanted to give everyone a voice and an outlet.

What drew you to your position?

The position of student body vice president interested me because it gave me the platform I needed to advocate and raise awareness of all of the issues students (have) to deal with on a daily basis.

What is your biggest goal regarding SGA this year?

My biggest goal regarding SGA this year is to invoke a healthier relationship between faculty, administration and students. I want to make Appalachian feel more inclusive to all students.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing this academic year?

I am looking forward to being a resource for all students here at Appalachian. I want to be the platform that students use to talk about their issues regarding Appalachian, and I will do my best to help as many students as possible. The most important thing I could accomplish is knowing that I truly helped the students here at Appalachian, whether that be 100 or 10,000. I want everyone to know that I am here in this position because of them and I will do anything to ensure that they are heard.
