App State competed in the Mimosa Hills Invitational with hopes of winning the team title. The Mountaineers came in second with a score of 907, which was 43 over par, 1 stroke behind UNC-Charlotte and one ahead of Longwood University. In the 3 rounds, the Mountaineers scored 301, 305 and 301.
Junior Ona Lukes made a birdie on the last hole to give App State the lead entering the back nine of the final round.
Freshman Zoe Duval had the best score for the Black and Gold, tying for fifth with a score of 225. In the last round she shot a 74, which was 2 over par, to finish in the top five.
Four golfers from App State made it into the top 20. Freshman Alisa Pressley came in 12th with a score of 228, which was 12 over par. Lukes and redshirt sophomore Salem Lee both finished in 14th place, 13 over par, with a score of 229.
The Mountaineers head to Ironwood Invitational in Greenville on Sunday.
