App State dominated North Carolina Central University on Wednesday cruising to a 10-0 win in five innings at Sywassink/Lloyd Stadium.
In the first inning, App State struck out all 3 batters quickly, allowing them to grab the lead in the bottom of the first. Senior infielder Makayla McClain started out the bottom inning with a base hit, junior outfielder KB Bradshaw followed with a two-run homer which was the 200th hit of her career. The Mountaineers kept things going in the second inning as freshman utility player Madison Fletcher recorded a single, bringing both runners home and made the lead 4-0.Ā
In the third inning, sophomore outfielder Julia Girk doubled to set things up before freshman infielder Taylor Schafer brought her home with a single. The Mountaineers broke things in the fifth. Junior infielder Macy Hamby deliveredĀ a two-run double to make it 7-0. A few pitches later, sophomore infielder Emilie Ching sealed it with a three-run home run to left center, ending the game early. This game marks the 25th win of the season for App State.
