Playlist of the week: Gazing into ‘The Starry Night’

Art can have many meanings, whether visual or auditory, though many find the wide landscape of the creative world to be intertwined. When you hit shuffle on a playlist, crafted vocals, beats and instrumentation combine to paint wonderful images throughout your mind. This playlist seeks to find the harmony between visual and musical art, painting a rich array of murals in the mind.

The artist Vincent van Gogh is remembered for paintings like “The Starry Night” and “Café Terrace at Night.” For a classical feeling, Virginio Aiello in “Van Gogh” brings a timeless feeling to both mediums of art. Øneheart’s “watching the stars” evokes the same calming vibe viewers get from “The Starry Night,” with a lovely play on words.

Artists typically express their deepest emotions through their artwork, which many musical artists relate to. Billie Eilish emits tender vocals in “What Was I Made For? [From The Motion Picture ‘Barbie’]” and “Halley’s Comet” that bring a soothing liveliness to the playlist, almost like Eilish is lightly painting beautiful watercolor throughout your mind.

In the aftermath of finals, it’s important to take time to breathe, whether it’s through music or visual art. Press play and let various artists paint your worries away.
